In your journey to become an elite vegan athlete, or at least to lose a few pounds, you will undoubtedly stumble upon some of the most impressive people on the planet.
Vegan athletes are rare specimens with fascinating lifestyles that reveal how much they care about animals, the environment, and the incredible potential of the human body.
Nearly every vegan athlete maintains a diet and exercise routine few will ever match, which makes them all-stars in my book.

Criteria for the List
In my quest to find the best blogs for vegan athletes, I searched for sites that provided incredibly value and motivation. Here are the specifics:
My friend Matt Frazier takes first prize as his blog and online community have exploded into a massive force of vegetarian runners. You have probably seen one of Matt’s running carrots at your latest marathon because those shirts are everywhere. Subscribe to the blog at NoMeatAthlete.com or pick up one of Matt’s marathon guides and start soaking up the advice.
Scott Spitz is the most consistent blogger I have ever seen. Oh yeah, and he is an insanely amazing runner. His blog is full of reflections, advice, and how-to guides for living the life of a vegan marathon junky. It’s truly great content.
If you haven’t read Rich Roll’s book, Finding Ultra, get prepared to be dazzled. His book, blog, and podcast are the basis for my personal training program. I have used more advice from him than any other vegan marathoner out there.
Michael Arnstein is a stud. He is a fruitarian ultramarathoner who has made a phenomenal impact on the ultra world. He is consistently winning races on nothing but raw fruits and vegetables. Don’t miss his videos that highlight his amazing achievements.

Matt Ruscigno is a highly knowledgeable Registered Dietician who has a very cool video series titled, “A Day in the Life,” where he highlights vegan athletes. Matt’s personality is addictive and his nutritional advice is stellar.
Brendan Brazier has developed the most impressive plant-based (vegan) brand in the world. His books, nutritional products, blog, videos, and programs have helped countless people make the switch to eat plants and move their bodies. Check one of his most popular books, Thrive Fitness.
Robert Cheeke has built an empire of vegan weight lifters and fitness buffs. His site is the home base for many of today’s top vegan bodybuilders and it has a huge selection of resources. This is where my journey began when I first went vegan. His site proves that you can be vegan and very strong.
Dr. Doug Graham is a legend in the raw vegan community. His book, The 80/10/10 Diet, along with his blog are foundational for anyone considering a raw vegan diet. I love his book and his perspective on human health. Don’t miss this guy.
Scott is the king of the ultra. He has won a ridiculous number of ultramarathons and proven to nearly everyone that you can be vegan and a world-class athlete. His book, Eat & Run, is another must-read and his blog continues his message of eating right and helping others.
